Meet Gabrielle, Owner of Vale CM

Gabrielle Marcigliano established Vale Construction Management, LLC., in 2018.  Located in Rhinebeck, NY, it is 100% Woman Owned and Run Construction Management firm based in the Hudson Valley.


Gabrielle has built her repertoire of construction management expertise from a diverse background in construction and design, ranging from constructability reviews to scheduling, cost management, contractor procurement, and more.  Gabrielle began her construction management career in New York City and continued as a General Contractor in the Hudson Valley area. Her calm composure, empathy, and inclusive problem-solving approach give her the ability to handle surprises and manage projects with efficient pragmatism. Her dedication and diligence to her projects has gained her the trust and respect of local contractors and customers. 


Gabrielle earned a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University, and a master's degree in Project Management for Construction from Northeastern University.

Safety is the most important part of any project. In construction there is a difference between “dirty” and “messy”. Nearly every construction site is dirty and that is expected; but when a construction site is messy, it is unorganized and there are likely many safety violations. Safety is our Number One priority which is communicated to all contractors.

CHALLENGING BUT ACHIEVABLE


Creating a schedule that is challenging but achievable will keep contractors motivated. Giving too much time to complete a task usually ends up with contractors getting complacent and work slips; alternatively, not giving contractors enough time ends up being high stress and work not getting done in time. Right sizing the schedule by making it realistic is the best path to keeping on schedule.

After coordination and scheduling is completed with contractors, it is always best to stay the course. The reason we spend at least 50% of our time planning is so that the work can be executed efficiently.  Changing plans will not get the project done sooner.

Coordination between multiple parties takes time to research and plan. A focus on purposeful and organized meetings, emails and phone calls is fundamental to keeping all stakeholders engaged in the process.

Knowledge of what is being inspected and how to inspect is key to quality conformance. Communicating those findings to the contractor and client keeps everyone informed of the current quality successes and deficiencies.  Site walks and inspections during construction to ensure quality installation helps Vale attain high quality finishes.
